What is Reiki & what to expect from a Reiki healing session

Reiki is a Japanese technique for relaxation that also promotes healing.  Life force energy flows through all living beings, if this energy is low we are more likely to feel stressed or get sick. By directing Reiki energy, practitioners restore balance, and stimulate the body's natural healing processes. The word "Reiki" is derived from two Japanese words: "rei," meaning universal, and "ki," meaning life energy or vital force. 

During an in person Reiki session, a practitioner places their hands near the recipient's body, allowing the energy to flow where it is most needed. The recipient remains fully clothed and may experience sensations such as warmth, tingling, or deep relaxation during the session. Reiki can be administered either in person or remotely, as the energy is not bound by physical proximity.

Reiki can provide numerous benefits, including stress reduction, pain relief, accelerated healing, improved sleep, enhanced emotional well-being, and increased vitality and energy levels.  

Reiki is often used as a complementary therapy alongside conventional medical treatments, and its gentle, non-invasive nature makes it accessible to people of all ages and health conditions.

Distance Reiki healing is where the practitioner sends healing energy to a recipient who is not physically present.  Reiki energy is not limited by time or space and can be transmitted over any distance. Distance Reiki sessions are conducted similarly to in-person sessions but with the practitioner and recipient in separate locations. 

Distance Reiki healing offers flexibility and accessibility, allowing individuals to receive healing energy regardless of their location or circumstances. It can be particularly beneficial for those who are unable to attend in-person sessions due to physical limitations, distance, or other reasons.
